Obituary

Kay Oliver (K.O.) Towery was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on March 20, 1937 to Arthur and Ruby. He graduated in 1955, and joined the Navy. K.O. served in the Navy from 1955 to 1973 and made Chief Machinest Mate E7. He was married to Judith and they did not have children together. He married RaNae and together they had Karl, Steve and Kathy. Kay was married to Judith and together they had a daughter Dawn-Eve. He was married to Carol and they did not have children together. Kay married Peggy on March 24, 1986 and they were married for 35 years until he passed away. They did not have children together. He lived in Kansas, Illinois, Chicago area then moved to the Portland area. K.O. served in the Navy for 18 years then worked for the Federal Government collecting A.W.O.L service people, then worked at the Oregonian paper from 1973 to 2002. 

K.O. was a member of the Elks, Moose, Amvets, American Legion, VFW, Eagles, and was state commander VFW in Oregon from 1996 to 1997. He enjoyed boating, fishing, reading and family get togethers. 

K.O. is survived by Peggy his wife of 35 years, his son Steve in Beckwourth, CA, daughter Kathy in Salt Lake City UT, daughter Dawn in Salmon Creek WA, and daughter in law Veronica (Kent) as well as ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his dad Arthur, mom Ruby, brothers William Dennis (Bill), Arthur Daniel (Dan), son Karl and all his uncles and aunts. 

There will be a funeral at Roseburg National 2-15-22 at 11 AM.
