Gloria was born February 9, 1946 in Portland, Oregon to Elmer & Kathryn (Lutz) De Semple. She passed away surrounded by those she loved and her care team at North Lincoln Hospital on November 28, 2020.
She went to Clackamas Grade School and graduated at Milwaukie High School. Gloria married Nicholas Terry Ruffner February 11, 1966 in Reno, Nevada; having 2 children together. During her working career she worked at Pacific NW Telephone however her primary joy was being a fantastic homemaker.
Gloria was the third of seven children; all of whom she adored. She was dearly loved by all. Gloria was strong & diligent in her beliefs, she loved people and was a "light" always. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. The family has lived in Milwaukie, Oregon, Aloha, Oregon, Denver, Colorado and Depoe Bay, Oregon. Gloria enjoyed crafts, baking (especially famous for her cookies and homemade whole wheat bread), Christmas decorations, playing games with everyone. Gloria loved to laugh and remember good times. She was dearly loved by all. She was a peace maker and filled with optimism
Left to mourn is her loving spouse Nicholas Ruffner of Depoe Bay, Oregon, Jason Ruffner and his wife Ruth of Galveston, Texas, her sister Linda Smith and her husband Donald of Hubbard, Oregon, her sister Shirley Johnson and her husband, Larry of Saratoga, Utah, her brother Randy De Semple and his wife Kristi of Gladstone, Oregon, her sister Victoria Honeycutt and her husband James of Cat Island, Bahamas, her brother Ronald De Semple and his wife Antonette of Milwaukie, Oregon. Also left to mourn is her beloved seven grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Kathryn & Elmer (Jack) De Semple, her sister Jackie Street and her son David.

A private family viewing was held and she will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
