Donald was born November 6, 1939 in Ellensburg, Washington to Henry & Julia (Wilson) Harrison. He died surrounded by those he loved and his care team at Lake View Senior Living and Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
Donald married Irene together having 4 children, then married Wilna before sharing his life with Sandra Barajas for over 20 years. During his life Donald lived in Germany while he was in the military; he served in the Army from 1957 to 1961, roughly. He managed a plywood plant for Georgia Pacific Lumber while in Africa, years after he left the military (in the 70s). He also lived in Beaver, Oregon, Coos Bay, Oregon and retired in Lincoln City, Oregon. He worked in plywood manufacturing for Georgia-Pacific Lumber Company as a supervisor during his working career and was then self employed as a forest product cultivator picking and selling moss, cascara, fern and holly for many years after working in manufacturing. During his youth he was a member of the Boy Scouts and played basketball and football while at North Bend High School. Donald was an outdoorsman, he also enjoyed playing poker and made several friends at the local casino.
Left to mourn are his adult children, his son David Harrison of Terrebonne, Oregon, his daughter Gail Lightfoot of Idaho, his daughter Annette Calcagno and her spouse Anthony of Troutdale, Oregon, his son by relationship Shawn and his spouse Vicki of Salem, Oregon, his daughter by relationship Shannon Cleveland and her spouse Matthew of La Grande, Oregon, his son by relationship Brian Lestaht and his spouse Jenifer of Tigard, Oregon and his son by relationship Ralph Barajas and his spouse Irene of Tillamook, Oregon along with 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, many other family members and friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his son Donald Harrison, Jr in 2019., his life partner of over 20 years Sandra K. Barajas in 2012, his parents and siblings.
There is no services planned at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, The family will be scattering his cremated remains at a later date.
