Peggy was born January 24, 1931 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Alice (Cupinski) & Charles Novello Butler. She passed away surrounded by those she loved and her care team at Lakeview Senior Living & Samaritan Hospice on July 14, 2020 at the age of 89.

Peggy went to grade school at Chesire, Oregon then moved to Springfield, Oregon where she graduated high school then attended some college courses at University of Oregon and Portland University. She lived many years in Portland and short time in Lake Oswego while she pursued a modeling career. Peggy also lived in San Francisco, Ca where she worked until retirement,. She had a greater zeal for life when surrounded by her friend in the cities. Loved the higher-end things and enjoyed entertaining with extravagant dinner parties. Peggy achieved her highest moments with her modeling career when she adorned the cover of Sunset Magazine and was the face of Kodak. She spent most of her working career as a secretary for various businesses and worked for Dormer Insurance in Eugene, Oregon as well as other insurance companies in Portland, Oregon. In San Francisco she worked until for the EPA and worked for the Alaska State Senate during her brief time there.

She enjoyed fish & fishing and loved going with her Uncle Alden on his big boat when she was a young girl. Charleston, Oregon presented a wonderful love for fishing and the outdoors. Peggy loved to fish all of her life.

Peggy was married to Court Leigh Daley in 1948 in Eugene, Oregon at the Presbyterian Church together having Deborah Lee Daley. Later she married Larry Traeger in 1963 having one daughter, Laurie Lee Traeger.

Left to mourn are her daughters Deborah Daley Gaffey of Yachats, Oregon , Laurie Lee Traeger of Juneau, Alaska. Her sisters Mary Lou Johnson of Roseburg, Oregon and Dorothy Zirkle of Medford, Oregon. Along with her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Novello Butler & Alice Butler and her grandparents Charles & Rosie Butler and Stanley & Minnie Cupinski.

There are no services planned at the time due to the Corona COVID-19 virus. A private family remembrance will take place at a later date.
