Terry T. Trevillyan

Terry was born in Yankton, South Dakota in 1933 to John and Olga (Farus) Trevillyan. He grew up in Tyndall, South Dakota where he was active in sports and played the trumpet in the school and jazz bands. He also helped at his parent's newspaper business. In 1954 he enlisted in the Untied States Army and was stationed in England as a High-Speed Radio Operator and was honorably discharged in 1956. Then he attended University of South Dakota before heading west to Pacific University Optometry School in Forest Grove, Oregon where he earned his doctorate degree in 1963. He re-enlisted in to the Army in 1965 as a Optometry Officer, 2nd Lieutenant, then headed to Basset Army Hospital at Ft. Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. He had many great hunting and fishing adventures during his tour in Alaska and was promoted Captain in 1967 then being honorably discharged in 1968. Terry and Alice moved to Hermiston, Oregon with their young family in 1968 where he served many members of the community through his Optometry Practice. He also enjoyed being a member of the Hermiston Kiwanis Club for 30 years where he met many of his lifelong friends. Terry loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing and camping trips with family and friends in their RV. After retiring, Terry and Alice moved to the Oregon Coast in 1999. They loved exploring the beautiful coast line, walking the beaches and searching for agates & other treasures including glass floats in Lincoln City. Terry also loved being a grandpa and left his grandkids with many happy memories. He is survived by Alice (Prestis) his wife if 58 years whom he married in Longview, Washington; his son Mike Trevillyan of Bellevue, Washington; his daughter Sherri Romano and her husband Greg of Portland, Oregon; his grandchildren Silvan, Trevan and Halli Romano; his brother-in-law Keith Prestis of Longview, Washington and several nieces and nephews. He had one brother who preceded him in death, Jacques (Marion) Trevillyan of Knoxville, Tennessee. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
