Clarice Therese Morris

Clarice Therese (Gillen) Morris, 87, of Lincoln City, Oregon, went to heaven to spend eternity on September 20, 2015. She passed from this life to the next at her home after a long and healthy life. Clarice was born in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on January 20, 1928 to Anthony Gillen & Angeline (Williamsen). She was predeceased by her two brothers, Jim & Jerry and her sister, Marion. She is survived by her older sister, Joyce & her husband Chuck Hickerson of Arlington, Oregon. Clarice graduated from Kelso High School in 1945. Clarice is predeceased by her husband of 52 years Donald Hamilton Morris whom she married on September 4, 1950, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, here in Lincoln City. Clarice was the mother of Therese (Melsheimer) of Neotsu, Larry of Lincoln City, Mary Rose (Morales) of Turner, predeceased, Liz (Wood) of Lincoln City, Tony of Standish, Maine, and Tish (Dray) of Lancaster, Massachusetts. She was "mom" to numerous others as she loved and cared for all of her children's friends. She was an active member of St. Augustine's Church where she served on the Alter Society and as an Eucharist Minister for many years. Clarice worked for North Lincoln Oil for several years. She was a dedicated wife, mother & friend. Clarice enjoyed golf prior to becoming so busy with her growing family. She was a cheerleader in high school and was an amazing seamstress that single-handedly sewed numerous "rally" outfits for her daughters' squads. Clarice had a strong faith that was put to the test with the sudden death of her beloved husband in 2002 and then the death of her daughter, Mary Rose, in 2010. Through good times and tough times, she never lost her faith. Clarice is survived by her sister, Joyce (Hickerson), 5 of her 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren , numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and care-givers without whose loving care and devotion she would not have been able to fulfil her desire to pass in peace at her home. She loved well and will be missed by many. Please join us as we celebrate Clarice's life with a Mass at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Lincoln City, Oregon, on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at noon. Mass will be followed by light refreshments in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Augustine's or a charity of your choise.
